Thursday 19 November 2009 | Posted by: Admin

Knightsbridge Care Home and Retirement Village celebrated Halloween in STYLE with a resident's party and pumpkin carving competition.  Residents were joined by staff for an aftenoon of entertainment provided by local musician and singer Matt Gilsenan.  Matt was joined by various staff members and residents with their own renditions of popular favourites.  One of the highlights of the afternoon was the pumpkin carving competion.  Seven staff departments battled for first prize.  The standard of pumpkin design was very high with some brillant designs showing great imagination and skill.  In the end the pumpkin, affectionately known as "Betty" (Corie Street) and designed by the hosts was declared the winner by the residents.  The two runners-ups were "Me Owl Wan" designed by the nurses and carers and "Men at Work" designed by the maintenace department.
