Knightsbridge Host Crowned Thorny Rose

The inaugural 'Thorny Rose' of Trim competition has been won by Knightsbridge Village Host, Fergal Dunne.

Fergal and his alter-ego 'Lucy Longsausage' accompanied by chaperon, Jack Carroll swept aside the competition, which was loosely modelled on the Rose of Tralee Festival.

The contestants were interviewed in full female atire before performing a party piece in front of an appreciative audience in Knightsbrook Hotel. Lucy's winning performance included a unique rendition of 'Proud Mary' by Tina Turner, which stole the show.

A great evening was had by all and helped to raise much needed funds for the Boyne Valley Group, a branch of the Chernobyl Childrens’ Trust.

Well done again to Fergal 'Lucy' and Jack!
