A community group serving people with disabilities received a welcome boost in funding yesterday when it was presented with a cheque for almost €1,200 from the Irish Services Accommodation Institute (IASI) at a ceremony held in Knightsbridge Village Hall in Trim. The money was raised by members of the IASI through a raffle at their annual awards ceremony held in February of this year. At that event, Knightsbridge Village was awarded gold for outstanding accommodation and also won the supreme award for best nursing home accommodation. The community group, the North Offaly Disability Project, provides a meeting place and activities for members with disabilities with weekly meetings. The group also arranges outings and short trips away. Bernadette Enright, project coordinator of the group welcomed the generous donation by members of the IASI and thanked them for their continued support. Speaking at the event, Catherine Condon, Operations Support Manager at Barchester Healthcare commented, 'We are to welcome the delighted to welcome North Offaly Disability Group to Trim and wish them continued success with their ongoing work'. Community groups wishing to use Knightsbridge Village hall for functions or events should contact Knightsbridge Village on 046-9482700.
