What locations do Barchester have in Ireland?
In March 2008 Barchester will open their first development, Knightsbridge Care Village in Trim, Co. Meath. The scheme will incorporate a 102 bed care home and 69 independent living residences, restaurant, café, shop and village hall.

What kind of patients do Barchester care for?
We cater for long and short term residents which include those requiring dementia, respite, young young, chronic sick disabled, convalescent care and much more. Please see our list of services.

What are the bedrooms like in the care homes?
At Knightsbridge Care Home, all rooms are private, fully furnished with full ensuite facilities. There are 2 types of rooms; Care Suites comprise of a bedroom with separate kitchen and living area and the Care Bedrooms will be generously sized with full ensuite. All rooms have both telephone point, TV point and are fitted with a nurse call system.

Can I bring personal furniture and items into my room?
Yes, once the item fits your room and comply with our health and safety regulations, residents are encouraged to bring in personal items of furniture to personalise their surroundings making their stay more pleasurable and comfortable.

When can my friends and family visit?
There is no restricted visiting in Barchester care homes.

Are children allowed in to the care home?
Yes, we welcome all your family and friends. Knightsbridge Village will have beautiful grounds and gardens with seating areas and also a play area for children. There is a restaurant café and shop on site too.

Can I keep my own doctor?
Yes, residents can use the services of their own GP or can decide to use the home's retained GP.

Is a doctor available in an emergency?
Yes. There is 24 hour on call GP cover.

Are there other medical services are available - Dentists, Chiropodist, Physiotherapists?
There is a range of professional services available to residents. When requested or required, staff can organise a suitable appointment time.
